Upon arriving at the shopping center, we found a male about 65 years old suffering from a cardiac arrest. We immediately started the chest compressions and it was then that I opened and used my Pocket BVM. I was very surprised by the ease of use of the device and how quickly it assembled. The Pocket BVM fits perfectly in any compartment of the trauma bag. To start CPR, we asked for help from an advanced unit that arrived with a physician and continued with the maneuvers. The patient recovered from the cardiac arrest but unfortunately later passed away.
Mi nombre es Cristian Román y soy paramedico en la subdirección de urgencias del Estado de México. El pasado 23 de mayo, mi compañero y yo salimos al primer llmado del turno, la central de radio solo sabia que habia una persona inconciente, al llegar al centro comercial nos encontramos con un hobre de unos 65 años que estab sufriendo un paro cardiorrespiratorio. De inmediato comenzamos las compresiones en el tórax y fue cuando abrí y use mi BVM, me sentí muy sorprendido con la facilidad y velocidad con la que el BVM se arma, por su tamaño tan compacto cabe perfectamente en cualquier bolsa de la mochila de trauma, despues de iniciar RCP. Pedimos ayuda de una unidad avnzada que llego con el médico de turno y seguimos con las maniobras, recuperamos del paro al paciente que desafortunadamente falleció más tarde.
